Houses that listen to the sea.

Oddessey is an architecture and construction studio designing coastal residences, hotels and beach clubs along the Pacific and Caribbean shores of Mexico. We build quiet buildings for loud landscapes.

01 — Studio

A studio of quiet ambition.

We design from the site outward. Every Oddessey project begins with a long walk, a tide chart, and the angle of the morning sun. We spend weeks on the sand before we touch a pencil — because the work we are trying to make is not about the building, but about the life that will happen inside it.

Founded on the Mexican Pacific in 2014, our practice now spans twenty-one completed residences, four hotels, and the master plan for a 120-hectare coastal community. We work in stone, lime, fallen tropical hardwoods, and light.

03 — In Focus

Hotel Marea, Careyes.

Twenty keys terraced into a limestone cliff above the Pacific. Each room frames a single vertical slice of horizon; the public spaces — restaurant, library, seawater pool — are carved into the rock below. Built over twenty-two months with a crew drawn almost entirely from the surrounding ejido.

04 — Practice

One team, from sand to key.

Oddessey is unusual in Mexico for holding architecture, interior design and construction under one roof. It means we draw what we can build, and we build what we have drawn. Nothing gets lost in translation between site and drawing.

A / 01
Residential architecture
Primary and secondary houses on the coast, from 200 to 1,400 m². Site analysis, schematic through construction documents, interior architecture and landscape integration.
A / 02
Hospitality & hotels
Boutique hotels between 10 and 60 keys. Concept, operator coordination, FF&E, opening. We have delivered four hotels with five-star-adjacent operators.
A / 03
Beach clubs & restaurants
Day-and-night venues that read as architecture, not decoration. Kitchens, bar programming, acoustic design, lighting plots calibrated for open-air service.
A / 04
Master planning
Coastal master plans from 5 to 120 hectares. Infrastructure, plotting, design guidelines and architectural review. Two active plans currently under execution.
A / 05
Turnkey construction
Our own construction arm, licensed in Oaxaca, Nayarit, Jalisco and Quintana Roo. Lump-sum and cost-plus contracts, in-house cost engineering, full QA/QC.

How a house becomes a home.

Ch. 01
Site & story
Two weeks on the land. Sun paths, prevailing winds, sand movement, neighbouring canopy. A written brief before a line is drawn.
Ch. 02
Design & drawing
Hand sketches into physical models into full documentation. Three design reviews with principals, no exceptions.
Ch. 03
Make & build
Our own construction crews, local masons, and in-house cost controls. Weekly site reports with photography and tide log.
Ch. 04
Live & tend
We remain on the project for a year after handover — the salt air, the rain, the first hurricane. We want the building to age well.
